About Jane Badler

Jane Badler, born in Brooklyn on the last day of 1953, is a well-known American and Australian actress, most famous for her role as the villainous reptilian leader “Diana” in the NBC series V (1983) and its sequels.

Jane spent her teenage years in Manchester where she won the Miss New Hampshire title in 1972 and competed in the Miss America Pageant before studying drama at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
In 1977, Jane landed her first major role on the TV soap opera One Life to Live (1968), playing “Melinda Cramer Janssen” until 1981, with a brief return in 1983. She also starred in the soap opera The Doctors (1963). Jane’s TV roles include Falcon Crest (1981) as “Meredith Braxton” from 1986 to 1987 and “Agent Shannon Reed” in the Mission: Impossible revival (1988) filmed in Australia. She guest-starred in various TV series.

Her Australian TV roles include Cluedo (1992) and a guest-starring role in Snowy River: The McGregor Saga (1994). In the 1990s, she ventured into stage and cabaret, including the one-woman show “The Love Goddess: Rita Hayworth.”
